  • Mews is a hospitality management platform built to transform how hotels and spaces operate. But as the category grew, so did the noise – with platforms blending into one another through similar claims, features and messaging. Mews needed a brand that could clearly articulate its impact, and reflect the scale, ambition and difference of its product. Challenge accepted.

  • Ken Gilbert Trucking & Excavating is a well-established trucking and excavating company serving Norfolk County for over 30 years. Known for reliable excavation, hauling, snow plowing, and material transport services, the company needed a modernized identity that reflected its professionalism, experience, and reputation within the community.

  • The previous identity relied on a single logo that would change colors depending on the vehicle it was placed on, creating inconsistency and weakening brand recognition. Overland Design Co. developed a more structured visual system centered around consistency, clarity, and professionalism, helping modernize the company while maintaining the trust it had built within the community for over 30 years.

  • The “G” remained central to the identity as a nod to the owner's name but was redesigned into a more ownable mark. A bold “G” silhouette sits within a “K” framework, while the excavator bucket helps form the crossbar of the letterform. A high-visibility orange paired with white and off-black creates strong contrast across vehicles, equipment, signage, and digital applications.

  • The refreshed identity was designed to scale across trucks, excavators, snow plows, signage, uniforms, social media, and printed materials. Angled elements from the “K” structure form a repeatable brand pattern, while the logo shape itself can be used as a dynamic mask for project photography, helping bring ownability and consistency to every touchpoint.

  • A special thanks to Ken and the entire team at Ken Gilbert Trucking & Excavating for trusting Overland Design Co. with this rebrand. We’re proud to help support a company with over 30 years of industry experience and look forward to seeing the refreshed identity continue serving communities across Norfolk County for years to come.
