CRUDE OIL

Crude Oil is an upcoming indie game that puts players in control of a sentient blob of oil determined to escape the confines of an industrial refinery. Blending physics-based mechanics with a surreal, darkly comedic tone, the game challenges players to roll, splat, and absorb more oil as they navigate machinery, pipes, and hazardous environments. With its unique concept and quirky atmosphere, Crude Oil stands out as a bold and experimental title in the indie gaming space.

ODC explored several minimalist title treatment options for the game’s logo, intentionally designed to let the oil blob remain the primary visual focus. The goal was to feel organic and fluid, echoing the amorphous movement of the oil blob, while subtly nodding to the refinery’s industrial setting. Here are some of those unchosen designs.
